Different topics are given for the examiner to ask. The examiner will select two for you:

Let’s talk about Science and Technology at school:

  1. Did you enjoy studying science at school? Why/why not?
  2. Should science and technology be mandatory at school? Why/why not?
  3. Do schools pay teachers enough? Why/why not?
  4. Are written exams the best way to assess a student’s knowledge? Why/ why not?

Let’s talk about cakes and sweets:

  1. Do you have a sweet-tooth? 
  2. Do you like cooking or baking? Why/why not?
  3. Is cooking and baking more or less popular than it was in the past? Why/why not?
  4. Is cooking more or less expensive than eating out? Why/why not?

Let’s talk about history:

  1. Is it important to learn history? Why/why not?
  2. Do you enjoy watching history programs on TV or online? Why / why not?
  3. What is more interesting, national or international history? Why?
  4. If you had a time machine, which time period would you travel to? Why/why not?

Let’s talk about Video Games:

  1. Are video games cheap or expensive? Why?
  2. Is playing video games a good or a bad way to spend your free time? Why?
  3. Some people say video games are bad for your brain, do you agree or disagree? Why?
  4. Would you/do you let your children play video games? Why/why not?

Let’s talk about money:

  1. Are you financially responsible? Why/why not?
  2. Do you make a budget every week/month? Why/why not?
  3. What are some good ways to save money?
  4. Should schools teach finance at school? Why/why not?

Let’s talk about health:

  1. How often should you go to the doctor? Why?
  2. Is going to the doctor expensive in your country?
  3. Is it easy to go see the doctor in your country? Why/why not?
  4. Should doctors make more or less money? Why?

Let’s talk about books:

  1. Do you like reading? Why/why not?
  2. What is your favourite book type/genre? Why?
  3. Do you prefer digital or paper books? Why?
  4. Do people read more or less than they did in the past? Why?

Let’s talk about the news:

  1. Do you enjoy watching the news? Why/why not?
  2. Where do most people get their news nowadays? Why?
  3. Do you believe everything you see in the news? Why/why not?
  4. Should everyone keep up with the news? Why/why not?

Let’s talk about exercise:

  1. Is exercise important? Why/why not?
  2. Is going to the gym the best way to exercise? Why/why not?
  3. What is the most popular sport in your country? Why?
  4. Do you like watching fighting sports? Why/why not?

Let’s talk about teeth:

  1. How often should people go to the dentist? Why?
  2. Do you think going to the dentist should be free? Why/why not?
  3. Is going to the dentist expensive in your country?
  4. Do you think most people take good care of their teeth? Why/why not?
