Podcast Questions – How to Brew Amazing Coffee with Science

If you are anything like me, you drink way too much coffee! In today’s podcast lessons, our hosts take us on a journey through the magical world of coffee making and coffee drinking.

To use this lesson in a classroom, simply play the podcast to your students online or in the classroom and have them answer the questions below. I have also provided an answer sheet for the teacher to check beforehand. The podcast also has a transcript for students to read if they are struggling to understand it in real time.

If you don’t have time in class, this makes great homework. Students can listen at home and answer the questions by themselves. Give it a try!

  9. The size of the ground coffee matters because different machines require a different grind. Expresso requires a fine grind and French press a coarse/thick grind.
  10. They say it is becoming more like wine because people are a lot more interested in coffee than they used to be from the farm to the cup.
