3 Fun Present Perfect Worksheets

Students rarely love worksheets, but these puzzle worksheets about the present perfect are sure to be a hit! Use these three fun puzzle worksheets in your class to get students engaged and thinking about the present perfect.

1. Hidden Message Worksheet

This first worksheet includes a short story. Students must complete the blanks using the present perfect. If they complete the blanks correctly, then they can use the gray highlighted letters to complete the puzzle at the bottom of the page. Can your students solve the puzzle and get the joke?

The answer is on the second page of the worksheet.

2. Color by Numbers Worksheet

First students complete the multiple choice questions on page using present perfect grammar. Once they’ve finished the multiple choice answers, they will have the corresponding numbers and colors that they need to complete the color by numbers on page 2. For example, question number 1 says, “I’ve never…” The answers is B. “…gone horseback riding. (pink)” That means students should color every number 1 space on page 2 with a pink crayon or marker.

If they’ve answered all of the multiple choice correctly, then they should have a beautiful coloring at the end of the activity.

3. Odd Man Out Worksheet

Students will need several colored markers, highlighters, or pens. The goal of this worksheet is to match each base verb with its past participle form.

After students have matched all the verbs, there will be some verbs left out. Students must use these leftover verbs to solve the riddle at the bottom of the page.
